About me

My name is Paul Welburn, born a Yorkshireman but now live in the West Midlands and have done for the last 22 years. I’m married to my beautiful, unbelievably supportive best friend & wife Sarah (same person just incase you were wondering). We have two and a half purse drainers in the form of Holly & Harvey and our lovely Sprocker dog Chester.

The Journey…

Some photographers decide from the moment they pick up a camera that being a professional photographer is all they have ever dreamed of, with most falling into photography by means of a hobby. Before I started using a camera properly i’d always be in awe of that ‘wow’ photograph and wished I had the knowhow to produce such images.

My journey started with a fluke photo I took of my daughter around 10 years ago which I thought was great. From then on I thought ‘this photography lark isn’t as hard as it seems’. I couldn’t have been further from the truth. After hours and hours of practice, dedication and training courses my photography has drastically improved, moving me away from the hobbyist to a more serious photographer.

My Style…

I’m not your traditional photographer and don’t believe in ‘staging’ everything. My relaxed approach allows the bride and groom to be themselves allowing me to document your wedding day and get those ‘real moment’ images. This way I can tell your story naturally, like capturing the groom seeing the bride at the alter, laughter as the best man delivers his speech or the mother of the bride crying tears of joy! I still get overwhelmed when an image i’ve taken brings a tear to someones eye.
